One MD Recruiting was founded in 2023 by Dr. Jarad Stephan, to help address physician shortages in Canada.
In 2023, Dr. Stephan was serving as the Chief of Anesthesia at his hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He recognized the significant impact that physician shortages where having on patients, friends, family and colleagues. Dr. Stephan decided to do something about it and One MD Recruiting was born!
Dr. Stephan has grown his team to include like-minded physician friends across a variety of specialties. The One MD Recruiting team works hard to implement a personalized, concierge level, recruiting strategy that creates fantastic results for the Healthcare Organizations we work and unparalleled career and life experiences for each physician we recruit!

At One MD we understand how unique each physician is. We also understand the challenges that come with relocating to a new place to live and work. We work hard so that each physician we recruit is able to create the amazing, exciting career and life they want and then enter it as seamlessly as possible.
Our Founder Dr Jarad Stephan
Dr Jarad Stephan is a skilled physician, award winning educator and mentor, proven leader, esteemed colleague, problem solver and entrepreneur. Highlights of his professional career to date include the following:
Chief of Anesthesia at the Calgary South Health Campus from 2020 - 2023. During this time Dr Stephan led his department through the COVID pandemic and numerous other challenges. His hard work and deep care for his colleagues led to him receiving a 97% positive rating and 0% negative rating from his peers on an independent review of his department.
Founder and Director of Alberta’s 1st and the world’s 2nd Transitional Pain Service. In 2017 Dr Stephan started the Transitional Pain Service at his hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to assist patients at risk of, or who have developed significant post surgical pain. This award winning, multidisciplinary pain program won the Patient Experience Award from the Health Quality Council of Alberta in 2019.
Consistent winner of the annual awards for excellence in teaching and training anesthesia residents and medical students in anesthesia in Calgary, Alberta.

In his personal life Dr. Stephan is a dedicated and loving husband and father of 7 children and 2 grandchildren. He routinely volunteers with youth groups in his community. In his spare time he can be found camping and hiking with his family and friends in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada.
